Ford Mustang adds to its line of performance vehicles for 2021, with the return of the limited-edition Mustang Mach 1 fastback coupe. After ending its previous run in 2004, the Mach 1 is once again back to the Mustang family. It is equipped with a brand-new front end, wings and spoilers from the powerful Shelby GT500 and flashes black stripes with contrasting colors to make your Mustang stand-out. Under the hood the Mach 1 offers a great performance, with a little extra oomph than the Mustang GT.
With varying body styles between coupes and convertibles, the 2021 Ford Mustang releases a total of six trim levels.
The Ford Mustang seats four people, though the two rear seats are only suited for smaller passengers, (which is the case in most sports cars). Mustang is more luxurious than ever before, with available premium features and an impressive cargo hold. If you need to carry more, the back seat will easily fold down, carrying up to 12 carry-on bags. It also has the most interior storage space among rivals and features the biggest center-console bin. Upgraded leather, new door sill plates, an updated splash screen on the 12.3-inch all-LCD instrument cluster*, a white cue ball shift knob, and engraved badging that displays the vehicle’s unique chassis number are available options.
The 2021 Ford Mustang offers several engine choices, but the Mach 1 becomes the most track-capable 5.0-liter V8 Mustang ever. It produces 480 horsepower at 7,000 rpm and 420 lb. -ft. of torque at 4,600 rpm and comes standard with a 6-speed manual transmission from the Shelby GT350. Buyers can also opt for an available 10-speed automatic transmission with an upgraded torque converter that optimizes its performance. A standard seven-speed dual-clutch automatic is standard on the GT500 trim only.
Drivetrain: rear-wheel drive
You can go faster and feel safer with Mustang’s array of standard advanced safety features. All Mustangs are eligible for the Ford Safe and Smart package that includes adaptive cruise control and navigation.
Every Ford Mustang comes with a SYNC infotainment system. Its standard SYNC shows information on a 4.2-inch screen and the upgraded SYNC 3 system features an 8-inch touch screen.
After seventeen years of hibernation, the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach1 has made a comeback. It’s sleek design and high-performance engine is set for the racetrack, but if you don’t care about the lap times and care more about sporty everyday driving, Ford offers something for everyone. It boasts sharp handling, ample engine power, and good interior quality with a solid list of features on each of its trims.
